Mark Down Nov 10th for the Scott Dayton EOD Memorial 5K

Joe CockrellOct 01, 2018

There is just over a month left before the 2nd Annual Scott Dayton EOD Memorial 5K kicks off at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The race start will be at 9:30am on Saturday, November 10th, at the 2nd Street connector off Atlantic Avenue. It is fitting that this year's race will occur on Veteran's Day weekend as we look to honor the legacy of Navy EOD Senior Chief Scott Dayton who was the first American killed during combat operations in Syria on Thanksgiving Day, 2016. Like many others before him, Scott died clearing the path for others, and the proceeds from this year's race will benefit NSOF, whose mission is to now clear the path for our families and operators so they can always stay in the fight!

This is a chance for local friends and family to join together with the Navy Special Operations community in Hampton Roads as we celebrate and remember the Warriors who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend this great nation in areas all over the globe since 9/11.

If you are unable to join us for the run portion, you are welcome to join us during the post-race party which will take place immediately proceeding the race at The Shack, where there will be plenty of drinks, games, and activities for all to enjoy!
